First draft of my comparison/contrast essay

In my comparison/contrast essay I am going to compare riding motorcycle with riding bicycle on campus. I decided to write this topic because KAIST students are very interested in buying powerful motorcycles without thinking its disadvantages. As an example I could show myself. The first day I came to KAIST I saw that many students are riding cool motorcycles on campus, after which I became interested in motorcycles. Around 2 weeks later coming to KAIST, I bought my first motorcycle which was for beginner drivers without getting permission from my parents.

A week later I realized that it was slow for me and I changed motorcycle to more powerful one. I was regularly changing my motorcycles until I had my first accident after 8 months later from the time I started to enjoy with driving motorcycle. As a result my left shoulder was dislocated. The doctors treated my dislocated shoulders and I thought that I would not have problems with my shoulder anymore. As many KAIST students I also did not have neither number plate, nor insurance. That is why I had to pay all the expenses for damaged motorcycle and hospital fees by myself. 2 months after the accident, my motorcycle was stolen which was parked in front of my dormitory. At that time I felt very sad because I lost the thing that I really like a lot and cannot live without. But the pains which I got from motorcycle did not finish even after losing it, because I still had problems with my shoulder. My shoulder was dislocating every time when I was swimming, doing exercise or doing sudden actions with my left hand. A year after I lost my motorcycle I decided to visit doctor and treat my shoulder. As a result I had a surgery in Korea on my left shoulder this summer, before going back to my country. The surgery was very painful and I get hurt around 2 months after the surgery, and moreover I paid a lot of money for surgery which was about 3 times more than the cost of motorcycle. The worst thing was that I get hurt mentally, physically and financially because of motorcycle which I loved. 

My last motorcycle

After all of this what happened to me I decided never to buy a motorcycle. Since I lost my motorcycle I am riding a bicycle on campus and very happy with it. Fortunately I never get any trouble because of my bicycle and moreover riding bicycle have same benefits for me such as not paying for petrol and it is good for exercise.

The reason I decided to write about this topic is that I hope it would be helpful for some students who want to buy motorcycle. Probably they will decide to buy bicycle after reading this essay and realize the real disadvantages of driving motorcycle. Even while buying simple thing such as transport we must think about its disadvantages and compare it with its advantages. The most important think in our life is our health, because nothing is interesting if we do not have good health. Buying motorcycle is same as with playing with death. Thus with this topic I want to prevent students from buying motorcycle and advise them to use bicycle on campus.

I am going to start writing essay “Riding bicycle vs. motorcycle on campus” with giving brief introduction about the importance of transport on campus. Then I am going to compare 3 most important things for both bicycles and motorcycles which are safety, their price and everyday cost and their effects on environment. I will also give some statistics and examples for making essay more interesting. Finally in conclusion I am going to write about there is no sense for spending a lot of money for buying motorcycle and recommend them to buy bicycle which is also on two wheels.

I guess my essay will be interesting and at the same time helpful for students, because still many students, especially freshman thinking about buying a motorcycles. I also think that this essay will make students to think before buying motorcycle and hopefully they will decide to buy bicycle with which they will be happy go to their classes.
